Our promise
The continuity promise
If our licence server ever ceases to exist, your software keeps running. That is not a marketing line but a technical property — and you can verify it yourself.
Why this promise exists
Many of us have seen what happens to purchased software when its vendor switches off the activation servers: the licence was "lifetime", yet the software is dead all the same. AnnexCREATE was built explicitly as a way out of that dependency. That is why perpetual means perpetual. No "server dead ⇒ software dead".
How activation works technically
- Your licence is a signed file (
AnnexLizenz-….annex) that you receive with your order confirmation and keep yourself. - The apps check the signature entirely offline against public keys embedded in the apps. If you import the licence file, you send us not a single byte. If you redeem a key, the key, a device identifier and the device name are transmitted once (Privacy policy § 10).
- Without an expiry date, the licence is valid indefinitely — licences from the legacy RSA stock also remain valid with no cut-off date.
- There is no technical copy protection and no forced binding to an account. The account with us is a mailbox for finding your keys again — never a condition. You can delete it at any time, and your licences remain valid.
The published offline verifier
So that you do not have to take our word for it, we publish the verification tool: a single, open-source PHP file with no dependencies. It checks your licence file with the same public keys as the apps — on your own computer, without internet.
Download license-verify.php (source code, to read and run)
The file is deliberately served as a text file so that no server executes it and
you can read it before running it. When you save it, it is named
license-verify.php again.
How to use the verifier (requires PHP 8, on a Mac e.g. via brew install php):
php license-verify.php AnnexLizenz-AnnexPublish.annex
The tool shows you which product the licence covers, whether it is bound to a device (licence files from the delivery email are not) and that it is valid indefinitely. Tampered content or a foreign signature is rejected — try it out: change one character in the file, and the check turns red.
The public keys
The RSA key of the legacy stock is embedded in the verifier. The Ed25519 key of the current signatures (generated on 4 August 2026, also embedded in the verifier):
Ed25519 (hex, 32 bytes): ad4fa0d8f3447a129de16037fff844efc03a4d97303212d056efc66cd0e3bb9bRSA-signed licences from the legacy stock remain valid indefinitely.
What the promise means in practice
- Server switched off? Your installed apps keep running, your licence file keeps activating — the check never depended on the server.
- New computer? Drag the licence file into the AnnexHub window, done. No connection, no account.
- Doubts about a file? With the published verifier you can check it yourself.
As of September 2026. This commitment is part of the licence terms (Terms, section B2).
