AnnexCAD — Manual
2D/3D floor-plan CAD in the AnnexCREATE suite. Status: alpha (0.7.5-beta); concept:
docs/konzepte/ANNEXCAD_KONZEPT.md.
What AnnexCAD is
AnnexCAD is the drawing board for floor plans: you draw walls, doors, windows and rooms in 2D — while the model carries real 3D data in millimetres (X, Y and height Z) from the start. A 3D viewport shows the same model next to the floor plan, the plan exports as vector PDF with a title block, and Blender renders the model on demand.
The workspace
The window follows the suite layout: left layers and storeys, centre the drawing canvas with grid and snapping, right the inspector with X/Y/Z, length, thickness, height and angle of the selection. Pick a tool in the toolbar; the undo button reverts every single step.
Drawing
- Wall: click–click sets the axis; type the length while drawing (Return confirms, Esc cancels). Four walls that close a ring are recognised as a room automatically.
- Door/window/passage: click into an existing wall — the opening aligns to it; openings beyond the wall end or wider than the wall are rejected.
- Room: click inside an area enclosed by walls — or draw a free outline.
- Line, arc, polyline, text, dimension complement the construction; move, rotate, mirror, copy edit what exists.
Snapping (endpoint, midpoint, intersection, orthogonal, 15°/75° angle steps, grid) helps while drawing; its radius is constant in screen points and does not jump when you zoom.
Layers and storeys
The three layers grundriss (floor plan), moeblierung (furnishing) and elektro (electrical) come from the „Bauzeichnen Light" web predecessor; add your own on the left. Toggle visibility per layer (undoable). Storeys stack with elevation and storey height; a hidden storey disappears in 2D and 3D.
3D viewport
The viewport button in the toolbar shows the 3D view: wall bodies with cut-out openings, floor and ceiling of every room, symbol placeholders. Selection is synced both ways with the floor plan — what you click in the plan is highlighted in 3D and vice versa.
Plan, room book, exchange
- Export plan (File): vector PDF in A4–A1, scale 1:20–1:200 or fit, one storey per sheet, title block with project fields from the brand kit, north arrow and scale bar. Also SVG and PNG.
- Room book (File): table of all rooms with area (clear dimension), perimeter and volume; exports as CSV and opens directly in AnnexCalc.
- Export… (File): DXF (AutoCAD R12 or 2000 — walls as outline polylines), glTF 2.0 (
.glb) and OBJ for 3D tools. - Open accepts
.axcadas well as.dxf(as lines and layers) andbauzeichnen-lightexports from the web module. - Render in Blender… (File): the model is rendered as a linked object — AnnexCAD builds camera, sun and ground; the PNG comes from Blender. Without Blender you get a named hint, not an error.
Agents and automation
The annexcad-cli workbench and the cad.* MCP tools can see every drawing: create and read documents, list and create building elements, compute the room book, export PDF/DXF/glb and render in Blender. An agent can operate a floor plan exactly like you.
Formats and limits
- Own file:
.axcad(Annex container withdocument.json— readable for the console storage). - DXF: read and write (ASCII R12/2000). Import never recognises walls — closed polylines stay polylines.
bauzeichnen-lightv1: import from the web predecessor; door and window heights are not part of that format and are filled with documented defaults (door 2000 mm, window 1200 mm with 900 mm sill).- Not in the alpha: DWG, IFC/BIM, roofs, stairs as a building element, editing in 3D.
